2024年10月17日,OPPO开发者大会(ODC24)在杭州举行。今年活动以“AI,更进一步”为主题,主会场和9个分论坛都聚焦于AI相关内容,OPPO正构建“开放共赢生态”。

OPPO分享了对AI的理解,发布了ColorOS 15,并展示了OPPO AI的新进展。

ColorOS 15以“超轻快、更自在”为主题,通过极光引擎和潮汐引擎重构,提升系统流畅度和续航。

On October 17, 2024, the OPPO Developer Conference (ODC24) was held in Hangzhou. This year's event, themed "AI, taking it further," featured AI-related content throughout the main session in the morning and 9 parallel sub-forums in the afternoon. OPPO is building an "open and win-win ecosystem" based on the development of AI technology.

During the main session, OPPO once again shared its understanding of AI. This year, ColorOS 15 was released. In addition, OPPO shared the restructuring of three major paradigms behind OPPO AI and new progress in distribution.

According to Tang Kai, President of OPPO Software Engineering Division, AIOS is a key part of AI phones. OPPO's understanding of AIOS will go through three stages: "AI for System," "System for AI," and "AI as System". OPPO is advancing along this direction.

Focusing on smooth usability and comprehensive AI, ColorOS 15 officially launched

The highlight of this year's event was the official launch of the new ColorOS 15. With the theme "lightning fast, more casual," ColorOS 15 focuses on smoothness, AI, design, and usability.

ColorOS 15 undergoes a comprehensive reconstruction from the ground up to the user level using the "Aurora Engine" and "Tide Engine" to eliminate subtle stutters during operation. The former introduces the industry's first parallel drawing framework, achieving smooth animation effects, while the latter enhances performance optimization at the chip level, providing a dual boost in smoothness and battery life.

Part of ColorOS 15 is the new "One-click Screen Query" AI interaction, a system-wide feature that integrates various AI capabilities throughout the system with a focus on simplicity and consistency. The system can understand content inside and outside the screen, providing accurate responses and suggestions without the need for manual selection.

Additionally, the "Super Little Cloth Assistant" has been upgraded, and features such as "AI Photo Editing" and "AI Office" are highly practical. ColorOS 15 also offers AI-based note assistants, document summaries, foreign language translations, and continues to support formats like Apple iWork, enabling cross-app "penetration search" for quick document location based on content.

ColorOS 15 continues OPPO's tradition of excellent design, incorporating natural light and shadow into the design language for more refined and realistic light and shadow levels under the support of the "Aurora Engine". With high-quality rendering, the system interface achieves real-time color mixing blur, diffuse projection effects, and various advanced dynamic lighting effects for natural and vivid operations.

This directly relates to the system's usability. ColorOS 15 introduces reversible editing of albums, native cross-transfer with iOS, Live Photos, and new upgrades to the "Fluid Cloud" for efficient multitasking, improving operational efficiency.

ColorOS 15 will debut on the upcoming OPPO Find X8 series and OnePlus 13. Starting from November, OPPO and OnePlus will also launch the official version upgrade plan for older models.

Behind OPPO AI, a restructuring of three major paradigms

ColorOS 15 brings a system-level AI experience, with OPPO AI restructuring interaction, computing, and development paradigms. The new SenseNow smart framework integrates OPPO's independently developed voice wakeup and personalized recognition technology, achieving voice wake-up and recognition accuracy of over 97%.

The use of enhanced multimodal understanding technology enables OPPO AI to recognize over 1,000 subjects, including landmarks, food, and people, with image-text hybrid retrieval capabilities. The use of generative speech synthesis framework enables AI to simulate human speech intonation and rhythm, supporting over 20 personalized voice tones for more natural interactions.

The SenseNow smart framework allows OPPO AI to blend different types of information sources, such as voice, text, and images, to understand complex user intents and perform seamless cross-app operations.

OPPO has significantly improved computing efficiency through a large model matrix architecture for on-cloud collaboration, including the independently trained Andes large model and partnerships with various large model providers to enhance user-facing AI experiences. OPPO has also collaborated with chip manufacturers to develop the LoRA architecture, breakthrough hardware resource bottlenecks for deploying multiple large models at the edge side.

OPPO also introduced the AI Secure Computing Cloud, using hardware-level TEE trusted computing technology for secure and trusted cloud and edge computing, ensuring user data security while efficiently using AI.

In terms of development paradigm restructuring, OPPO introduced the industry's first intelligent body development platform for mobile phones, opening up to the entire industry to drive AI ecosystem innovation and development. The platform offers low-threshold, zero-code development tools for developers to quickly build and deploy intelligent body applications, partnering with Baidu Cloud, Volcano Engine, Alipay, and others to provide rich APIs and on-cloud collaboration architecture for efficient operation of intelligent bodies in various scenarios.

A series of restructuring, innovation, and ecosystem development continue to attract more developers to join OPPO

To drive the OPPO AI process comprehensively and lower developer entry barriers to accelerate from concept to product realization, attracting more developers and creators to participate in AI development—OPPO is building an entire service system through an open ecosystem. Currently, the number of global OPPO developers and creators has exceeded 2 million, serving over 700 million global users through app, content, distribution, and overseas service.

For example, OPPO is helping developers reach users more directly. The atomic, multimodal, and intelligent service ecosystem brought by ColorOS 15 extracts services from apps and presents them in card form to meet immediate user needs. The system supports multi-modal interactions such as touch and voice, and with intelligent recommendations based on user profiles and habits, ColorOS 15 perceives scenes and recognizes intent, reducing the cost of accessing services for users.

OPPO provides an end-to-end solution including unified service library, optimized development environment, and upgraded intelligent service engine to help developers efficiently access the OPPO intelligent service ecosystem, allowing developers to develop, integrate, and launch a set of services in as fast as 3 days.

The new intent framework, by sharing terminal data with developers, enables real-time determination and inference of user intent, making services reach users more accurately. The intent framework currently supports 125 sub-categories and nearly 200 sub-intents.

OPPO continues to upgrade its full-process technical support and service capabilities. By offering open cloud testing services, new device adaptation, and automatic privacy detection services, OPPO helps developers achieve automated testing in multiple scenarios, significantly reducing application development debugging costs. Additionally, the application update capability helps developers optimize the version experience for existing users, while the "OPPO Data Insight" service provides insights into new opportunities through open OS data capabilities.

With continuous ecosystem development, OPPO has achieved distribution or exposure scales of tens or hundreds of billions on a global scale and maintains a high growth rate.
