vivo Responds to Glare Phenomenon in X200 Pro Smartphone Photography

Recently, many users reported a "glare" issue in the photos taken by the vivo X200 Pro smartphone, sparking a lot of discussion.

Yesterday, vivo's Vice President Huang Tao posted on Weibo, providing a detailed response to the issue.

Regarding the cause of the glare phenomenon, Huang Tao explained that it is due to the curvature of the lens lens, where light reflects between the two surfaces of the lens, resulting in varying degrees of glare as the angle of the light changes when shooting under strong light. The glare phenomenon in the X200 Pro is an extremely extreme off-screen glare caused by strong incident light outside the framing range.

As for whether the glare in the X200 Pro is more pronounced than other products, Huang Tao stated that it is indeed easier to trigger and more pronounced relative to other products.

There are two reasons for the more pronounced glare:

• The X200 Pro features an f/1.57 large aperture main camera, which is the largest among smartphone main cameras, but the larger aperture allows more light to enter, making it more prone to off-screen glare.
• The X200 Pro's coating is better at handling point light sources and petal glare in the positive front night scene (ghosting), but compromises in the blue spectrum, causing off-screen glare to appear blue, making it more prominent than other products' gray glare.

In terms of solutions, Huang Tao stated that they will soon push for software updates for optimization and accelerate the customization of external device optimization solutions, providing them free of charge to users in need.

Xiaomi Event Scheduled for October 29, Three New Products to Debut

Xiaomi officially announced that it will hold an event on October 29 at 19:00, where it will unveil several new products including the Xiaomi 15 series phones, the Surge OS 2.0, and the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra mass production version.

The official has revealed the design of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro phones. American Woman Sues Character.ai, Alleging it Led to Son's Suicide

An American woman, Megan Garcia, is suing Chracter.AI, its founders Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas, and Google, alleging that the products of these companies led to the suicide of her 14-year-old son.

Analyst Claims iPhone 16 Series Order Cut by 10 Million Units

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple has cut orders for the iPhone 16 series by about 10 million units for the fourth quarter of this year and the first half of 2025, with the majority being standard models.

Kuo also estimates that the production volume of the iPhone 16 in the second half of this year will be 84 million units, down from the previous estimate of 88 million units.
